Lwandle Cell Group update

June 2005

News from the Lwandle Cell Group.

A visit from Jabu and Joyce.

We have just enjoyed a visit from Jabulani and Joyce Mcwani from the
Newfrontiers Church in Harrismith, the purpose of their visit was to
encourage and develop the cross cultural work of HCC and to encourage the
Lwandle cell Group members to fully participate in the life of the church.
On the morning of Tuesday 14th June the couple spent some time visiting Cell
Group members in Lwandle and in the evening Jabu spoke at the HCC Leaders
meeting. His theme was One New Man in Christ A Black Perspective and he
spoke brilliantly about the need for fully integrated, multiracial church
life with each person taking up their unique role and responsibility as part
of the body.
On Tuesday 15th Joyce led the ladies discipleship group in Lwandle and spent
time praying and sharing with our ladies. In the evening Jabu and Joyce
attended the Cell Group meeting and Jabu preached and led a discussion about
the role of the Cell members in HCC. It was such a treat to have Jabu and
Joyce with us and to benefit from their wisdom and experience in cross
cultural work.
Please pray that the effect of Jabu and Joyce's visit will be far reaching
in HCC church life and that key people will become inspired to reach out
cross culturally.
Members of the Cell attended the leaders Prayer and Fasting day in Jubilee
Church on Thursday 16th and will feed back at the next Cell group meeting.

Ladies Alpha Course.

Beginning next term we are going to run an Alpha course specifically for
ladies and young women from Lwandle and Nomzamo. We have approached members
of Khanyisa Church, Gugulethu to help with the teaching sessions and we
already have several volunteers to make soup and serve the women each week.
Please pray that members of the cell group will be good at inviting friends
and family along and that many women become Christians as a result of this
Alpha course.
